Metal Babe Productions was established as a Partnership September 21, 2006 in Los Angeles, California by Alison Masson (Cohen) AKA Alison “MetalBabe” Cohen and Christine Salas (Corcoran). Alison Masson restructured the company to lead as a Sole Proprietorship in 2008; changing the name to Metal Babe Mayhem.
Metal Babe Mayhem is an American online company specializing in counterculture-related clothing, jewelry, and accessories, as well as music promotion. The company offers independent, licensed, and custom products, products from third party vendors, and sells both retail and wholesale.
The store is aimed towards an audience interested in rock music and music related products. The first products available in 2007 included a t-shirt with the company’s lips/bones staple logo (designed by Bill Bronson) and a guitar pick necklace. Since 2007 the company has added 27 additional designs on an assortment of merchandise.
The company sells products from third party vendors including Alchemy Gothic, Al Bane for Leather, Shrine Clothing, and Hilary’s Vanity. In addition, Metal Babe Mayhem has licensed jewelry available from Motörhead, Pink Floyd, Slayer, and AC/DC through third party vendor Alchemy Gothic. Metal Babe Mayhem has close to 300 products available at their online store.
Wholesale options are available for retailers. Manufacturing options are available for clients. In addition, Metal Babe Mayhem houses interviews and reviews written by the company’s CEO and its Journalists, and showcases 15 to 20 unsigned musicians monthly on their Metal Babe Mayhem Monthly Playlist.
On May 24th, 2017 Masson partnered with business consultant Chris Mulford to form the music promotion division of the company; MBM Music LLC. The MBM Music LLC slogan is “You Create. We Promote. Plug Into The Network. The company’s vision statement is “To provide independent artists a platform to be seen and heard, while assisting with necessary products, services, and fashion, in an effort to increase exposure, fan base, and income.” This monthly subscription service has three different packages available, in addition to a custom option.
