D’Monic Boris Lee and Alison “MetalBabe” Cohen have been collaborating on various projects since early 2019. D’Monic first joined the Metal Babe Family as a guest blog writer. After a few articles, Alison was impressed with D’Monic’s creativity, dedication, and attention to detail and offered him a permanent spot and his own blog column “Symptoms of the Metalverse.” D’Monic held down the column for three years, producing 40 articles.
The two collaborated for an online worldwide event (Lockdown Rock Down) April 11th,2020 featuring over-forty artists and performers; sponsored by Morbidly Beautiful. The event was a success, and even included an exclusive Merch line.
D’Monic has been working on a cover album for his project Boris & The Horribles. To date he has released three singles: “Judy Is a Punk,” (The Ramones) “Hard Luck Woman,” (KISS) and “Bark at the Moon” (Ozzy Osbourne) featuring guitar great Jimmy Adcock. All singles can be found on Spotify.
“Close My Eyes Forever,” which is a duet Ozzy Osbourne and Lita Ford released on Lita’s album ‘Lita’ in 1988, will be the fourth single. D’Monic Boris Lee and Alison “MetalBabe” Cohen recreated this heartfelt ballad with Alison as one of “The Horribles.”
D’Monic’s vocals and music were recorded in North Carolina. Alison’s vocals, mixing, and mastering were done in Los Angeles by legendary producer Bill Metoyer. (Slayer, Armored Saint, Lizzy Borden, Sacred Reich)
Alison is thrilled to be part of this song and said “I have been singing CMEF at karaoke my whole life and never in a million years thought I would have a professional recording of it from Bill Metoyer. Thank you D’Monic for including me as a “Horrible.” I hope everyone enjoys listening to it as much as I enjoyed recording it!”
D’Monic had a lot of fun doing this song with Alison and said “She put her heart into her performance, and came a long way since we first decided to work on the project together. The finalized song really came out great, and with Bill mastering the song, it sounds killer! I think people are going to dig the tune!”
