Not Another Wednesday 13 Show

The House of Blues in Anaheim, CA was packed full for the Metal Allegiance Show on Thursday, January 25th for NAMM weekend. Fans anticipated seeing All-Stars such as Chuck Billy and Alex Skolnick (Testament), John Bush (Armored Saint), Scott Ian (Anthrax), Dave Ellefson (Megadeth), and Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater) perform with Metal Allegiance. I was really looking forward to seeing Metal Allegiance, and it was such a nice bonus to have one of my top favorite bands play direct support… Wednesday 13! In addition, the amazing and talented Edge of Paradise were on the bill. We were definitely in for a real treat.
When it was time for Wednesday 13 to take they stage, they came out with “What The Night Brings,” which was the first single off their June 2017 release ‘Condolences.’ I could easily pick out the W13 fans from the crowd, who were immediately singing along and pumping their fists in the air. The Metal Allegiance fans were just taking it all in… The clothing, the makeup, the music… However, it didn’t take long at all for W13 to win over the crowd! It was so great to see Wednesday 13 play for a mostly new audience, open so many new eyes, and raise so many new fists.
Their set was short but heavy, with seven songs total. W13 always brings it all to their live shows and give fans a fun and energetic stage show full of catchy sing-along songs. The room was filled with “middle fingers in the air” as the band closed out with their personal anthem “I Love To Say F*ck.”
I spoke with several people after their set that were not familiar with Wednesday 13 prior to the show, but now they were fans. I even got great feedback from a new fan saying “they were tight, professional, and well-produced.”
I definitely recommend Wednesday 13 to anyone not familiar, and for us die-hards, I know we will all keep coming back for more.
