Written by Alison “MetalBabe” Cohen
Due to the current circumstances and out of respect for the people in Florida who are dealing with Hurricane Irma, LIT SOUL does not feel it’s right to release our new music video today. “You Blessed My Eyes With Your Cruelty” will be released very soon. Sending prayers to all those who are riding the storm out.
LIT SOUL have been working closely with directory/producer Matt Zane since late 2015 and are excited to release the brand new video for “You Blessed My Eyes with Your Cruelty.” Please visit LIT SOUL’s YouTube Page (https://www.youtube.com/user/LITSOUL1) or their website LITSOUL.COM for updates, and join their FaceBook Event Page here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1898971977022822/
LIT SOUL, a hard-driving melodic hard rock band from Los Angeles that advocates liberty in the modern age, are currently in the studio with legendary producer Bill Metoyer (Slayer/Armored Saint/Sacred Reich/Fates Warning) working on their upcoming album ‘Your Crusade.’ Ronnie Borchert (M!SS CRAZY, Welcome to the Freakshow) has jumped onboard for the final mixing stages. The band has finished their first single and video for the album, which is an epic song entitled “You Blessed My Eyes with Your Cruelty.”
This song (YBMEWYC) truly is a masterpiece, and takes the band to an entirely different level with a new and fuller sound. It goes in a direction that they have not touched yet, but completely makes sense within the LIT SOUL musical umbrella. When asked about the inspiration behind the song, LIT SOUL founding member Rob Chevelle stated that it is a song he wrote about a past relationship that others can probably relate to as well.
In its full form, YBMEWYC is a whopping seven minutes and forty-four seconds long. Chevelle has truly outdone himself on the vocals of this piece, and has a range and vocal style that we have not seen yet to date. Current fans are going to be impressed with this number, and the band definitely will be gaining new fans from untouched markets, such as those into Love Metal and Romanticore.
LIT SOUL have released four CDs, including ‘Seven Worlds,’‘Libertine Dream,’ ‘Poetry,’ and ‘Love At War.’ Rob Chevelle also released a Birthday Poetry CD which contains some of his most up-close-and-personal art to date. They have played tons of live shows in southern California and shared the stage with bands such as Jeff LaBar, (Cinderella) The Chimpz, Gilby Clarke, Stephen Pearcy, (RATT) Hollywood Roses, M!SS CRAZY, and Steel Panther. Something that separates LIT SOUL from the rest of the pack is that they have a message behind their music and are spreading the word for important worldwide issues.
