Metal Babe Mayhem Launches “Studded Star” Guitar Strap with Al Bane for Leather

Alison “MetalBabe” Cohen, who is a ‘rock journalist with a clothing line,’ established Metal Babe Mayhem in 2006 in an effort to support and promote rock n’ roll. Her reviews/interviews have been published close to 200 times in a variety of online and print magazines. MetalBabeMayhem.com has close to 30 unique designs available with lips/bones, skulls, pin-up girls, guitars, vampires, bats, and more on a variety of one-of-a-kind clothing items for both men and women.

Al Bane for Leather creates unique theatrical costuming for the motion picture and music industries. Al Bane has dedicated the past 35 years of his life to creating custom-design leather clothing and accessories. He opened his first leather shop on Hollywood Boulevard in 1981 and had a specialty merchandise booth inside Gazarri’s nightclub on the Sunset Strip for 13 years during its prime. Currently, Al Bane for Leather has a warehouse/showroom located in North Hollywood and is available for custom leatherwork.

Metal Babe Mayhem is super excited to launch their first official guitar strap and know that it’s going to be extremely well received. Prior to the release of the “Studded Star” Guitar Strap, Al Bane for Leather and Metal Babe Mayhem have collaborated on quite a few other products, including Swarvoski Crystal leather bracelets (both snap and bangle), red and black fringed purses, and a Metal Babe fringed choker.

Al Bane was recently approached by Zemaitis Guitars to create custom leather guitar ‘covers’ and matching guitar straps for their NAMM booth 2017. (Booth #210C)  So far, Bane has created five of ten designs to be showcased, including the Japanese Battle Flag, Pearl Spots, Black Star, Shrunken Goat, and a 3/8” Checkerboard pyramid. Ideas for the remaining five designs include an American Flag, ZZ Top Lightning Bolt, Texas America Flag, Skull & Crossbones, and Mother of Pearl Rhinestone design. In addition to the above-mentioned Zemaitis pieces and Metal Babe Mayhem “Studded Star,” Bane will also be displaying 28 guitar straps from his 2015 collection. The Pearl Spots guitar ‘cover’ was inspired by Tommy Henriksen (Hollywood Vampires) and has been played onstage at Soundcheck Live by Barry Pointer and seen on Michael Grant. (LA Guns).
